Maureen Brennan

B.A., University of Colorado, M.S., NYU, Graduate Internship, Gaylord Rehabilitation Hospital. Associate.

Maureen BrennanMaureen. Brennan joined the Mason team in 2004. She manages the Westerly, R.I. office and also works out of Mason Associates’ New York office. Trained as a therapist, she brings first-hand clinical knowledge of adolescent out-patient and residential treatment settings as well as broad experience in community-based practice. She has worked for such varied organizations as Easter Seals of Colorado, New York City’s Police Athletic League, the public schools in Harlem, and, for three years, at a residential program for dual-diagnosed adolescents in Connecticut.

Immediately before joining Mason Associates, Maureen worked for several years as Boarding Schools Liaison and then as Professional Outreach Coordinator for the Aspen Education Group, the largest owner-operator of therapeutic programs for children and young adults in the U.S. In these roles she traveled extensively throughout the country meeting practicing clinicians and mental health professionals, visiting traditional boarding schools, and helping to coordinate admissions at many of the Aspen properties. Her familiarity with so many diverse educational programs, from within and from without, helps parents and referring professionals demystify both the transitions and the programmatic elements each student and his/her family will encounter as clients of Mason Associates.

The daughter of an Olympic bobsledder, Maureen worked after college in the ski and travel industries before deciding to become a therapist. A competitive golfer, she also skis, kayaks, and sails when she isn’t traveling to meet clients, visit schools or attend conferences. Maureen’s lively, experienced voice is reassuring, hopeful and helpful.
